Bob Saget (born Robert Lane Saget on May 17, 1956 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American actor, stand-up comedian, television host and director who is well-known for his role as Danny Tanner on the ABC network sitcom, "Full House" and its Netflix sequel series, "Fuller House."
Saget was also the host of "America's Funniest Home Videos" from 1989 to 1997, and provided the voice of the future Ted Mosby on the CBS network sitcom, "How I Met Your Mother."

His father, Benjamin was a supermarket executive and his mother, Rosalyn (or "Dolly") was a hospital administrator
His sister, Gay died from scleroderma at the age of 47; he made a television movie in 1996 called "For Hope" which is based on his sister's struggle with the disease
His sister, Andrea died from an aneurysm at the age of 34; two of his other siblings died in childbirth before he was born
